Viewing Friday April 6, 2012 from 1PM until 8PM at the Stinson Northwest Chapel located 16540 Meyers Road at the John Lodge Fwy. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11AM at the Funeral Home. Family Hour is at 10:30AM. Final Disposition of the Remains is Cremation.

Johnnie Gordon, Jr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the union of Johnnie and Jeanetta Brady Gordon. He was affectionately know as "Little Johnnie." At the tender age of four he was seriously injured as a pedestrian by a drunk driver. His spirit prevailed and step by step he overcame, and learned to live a full life with traumatic brain injury (TBI)

He received his education in the Detroit Public School system taking special classes at the Oakman Elementary School for the disabled, and later matriculated into regular class at Drew Middle School.

An avid learner, Little Johnnie attended Washington Career Center and graduated successfully from the workshop program.

Later, he participated in an Independent Living Program where he learned to manage personal finances, conduct basic business transactions and how to become self-dependent. He lived independently for 24 years and worked for Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit, as a merchandise sorter for over 20 years. He had a passion for action movies, wrestling, race cars, football games and dining-out.

Little Johnnie had a loving, friendly and outgoing personality, he was very sociable and loved humor.

Johnnie Gordon, Jr. was preceded in death by his grandparents; Shirley Mae Brady, Alice Carroll Rounds and Bennie Gordon, Sr., uncles Walter Mitchell, Willie Brady, Henry Kucas, Frank Collins, Ed Ellis, Jr, and his aunt Ceolia Daniels.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories and to mourn his loss, his parents Johnnie and Jeanetta Gordon, his dear sister Michelle Gordon-Grigsby, adorable nieces Cydney and Kaylan Grigsby, aunts Lillian Ann Patterson, Florence Lucas, Verria Ellis, Ruby (James) Farris, Lillie Watkins, Rosie Hardgrove, Archie Murphy, Mary Alice Hill, and Keolia (Williea) McAllister, uncles, Ernest Leo (Robin) Brady, Bennie (Lillie Mae) Gordon Jr., Kyle Gordon, and Joseph Gordon. His favorite cousins Henry Lucas Jr., Joyce Gordon-Carmouche, Ted, Alice and Lillie Daniels, Best friends Tommie and Isiah and countless cousins, friends and co-workers who will miss him dearly.
